Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mason Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mason Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, David Silva!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jones sprawls well. Jones wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Silva gets slowly back to his feet.
Silva shoots in looking for a takedown. Jones tries to sprawl out of it but Silva keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jones manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jones tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Silva fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Mason Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Silva.

Jones unloads a knee to the mid-section. Silva lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jones has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Silva regains guard immediately.
Silva has a closed guard, preventing Jones from standing up.
Jones has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Jones knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.

Silva wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jones keeps working.
Silva not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Silva is looking for a kimura but Jones is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Silva to get the leverage.

Silva wants to work for an arm triangle but Jones is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Silva is looking for submissions but instead, Jones has regained full guard.
Silva trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Silva has gone for a leg lock! Jones slips out almost immediately though and dives into Silva's guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Silva has his foot on Jones's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jones works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Silva is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jones defends well.

Jones wants to get up but he can't break Silva's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Jones trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Silva wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jones keeps working.

Jones is not content to let Silva control the position.
Jones is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Silva tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Silva is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jones knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jones is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Jones looks to clinch

and Silva counters with a takedown into side control.

Silva wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Jones, who protects the arm well.
Jones is trying to buck Silva off.

Silva working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Silva wants to stand but Jones has him controlled and pulls him back into his guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jones avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Silva showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Jones moves in looking to clinch but Silva pushes him off.
Jones tries to clinch up but Silva circles away and keeps his distance.
Jones doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Silva counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Silva sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jones's guard.

Silva seems to be looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silva is looking for a kimura but Jones is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Silva to get the leverage.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Silva is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jones doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Silva.

Jones makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

David Silva comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Silva has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
