Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Larry Laugh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Thunder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Larry Laugh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Johnny Thunder!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Radbod Blank and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thunder shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Laugh's guard.
Laugh looking to control.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Thunder trying to control but Laugh is working from the bottom.
Laugh pulls Thunder in close to prevent any damage.
Laugh wants to stand and escape but Thunder is having none of it.
Laugh tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Laugh can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Thunder controls the pace.

Thunder prevents Laugh from getting back to his feet.
Thunder trying to control the position from guard on top but Laugh is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Thunder is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Thunder has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Laugh is proving hard to escape from.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Thunder shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

A nice elbow there by Thunder.
Laugh wants to hold on but Thunder pushes him away.

Laugh is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Thunder throws a sloppy strike and Laugh uses the opportunity to reverse the position! A bit of a scramble here and Laugh has ended up in Thunder's guard.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Laugh wants to sweep but no luck.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Laugh wants to stand up but Thunder is controlling him.

Thunder stands up and waves to Laugh to follow him.
Laugh looks to land a right hand but Thunder moved out of range.
Laugh misses with a few strikes there.
Laugh throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Thunder.
No joy there for Laugh, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Laugh tries to bum rush Thunder with a series of wild strikes but Thunder uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Thunder uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Laugh.

Thunder drives through with a takedown into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnny Thunder dominated that round.
That's time! Laugh's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Thunder shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Thunder not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Laugh wants to get back to his feet but Thunder is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Thunder landing some decent shots from guard.

Thunder thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Thunder lands a couple of elbows.

Laugh looking for a guillotine here but Thunder defends easily.

Laugh is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Thunder is aware though and is defending well.
Laugh controls Thunder momentarily but Thunder frees himself.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Laugh wants to get back to his feet but Thunder is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
A combination from Laugh does no damage.
Laugh throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Thunder.
Larry Laugh is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
No joy there for Laugh, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Laugh misses with a jab, cross combination.
Thunder connects with a body shot.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Thunder gets the takedown into side control.
Thunder lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Laugh down.

Thunder decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Thunder rushes Laugh and presses him up against the ropes.

Thunder has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Laugh clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Laugh is in bad spot here.
Thunder just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Thunder tries to get the hooks in deep but Laugh pushed the leg off.

Thunder is punishing Laugh with strikes - can he finish him?!
Thunder controls the action.
Laugh trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

Thunder looking to break Laugh's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Laugh remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Thunder will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
You can see the frustration on Laugh's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnny Thunder showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Laugh throws a right hand that Thunder ducks under and follows up with a left that Thunder also avoids with ease.
Laugh just misses with a punch to the body.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Laugh stops a takedown attempt from Thunder.
Laugh tries to break the clinch but Thunder is controlling the position.
Laugh is trying to break the clinch but Thunder has him pressed against the ropes.
Laugh could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Laugh wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Thunder can't get the takedown.

Thunder breaks the clinch.

Thunder closes the distance and clinches.
Thunder prevents Laugh from breaking the clinch.

Thunder is working on a single leg takedown against the ropes. Laugh can't fight it off and eventually Thunder manages to take the fight to the floor. Laugh looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Laugh wants to sweep here but Thunder controlling him for the moment.

Thunder pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Laugh is keeping the position for now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Thunder trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Thunder tries a head kick but it misses.
Laugh doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Laugh throws a sloppy body shot
and Thunder counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Thunder shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Thunder showed some decent athleticism there.
Thunder seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Laugh wants to control but Thunder is keeping busy.
Johnny Thunder has got the better of the ground game so far.
Thunder wants to pass to mount but Laugh is defending the position.
Thunder sitting and controlling from the half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Laugh is looking for a sweep. Thunder is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Thunder is keen to just control but Laugh is a slippery customer.
Thunder content to control rather than advance.
Thunder wants to lay and pray for a moment but Laugh keeps working.

And that's the end of the fight!
Johnny Thunder comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Thunder has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
