Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kron Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeffe Zampietre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie comes to the cage accompanied by The Bravery - time won't let me go. Kron Gracie has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kron Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeffe Zampietre!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gracie gets the takedown into side control.
Gracie throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie working the strikes but Zampietre uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Gracie is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Gracie trying to control from half guard but Zampietre is working away.

Gracie tries to pass to full mount but Zampietre defends it.
Gracie is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Gracie is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Zampietre doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gracie.

Gracie seems to be working for a kimura but Zampietre defends the submission attempt.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Gracie is looking for a kimura but Zampietre is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gracie to get the leverage.

Gracie is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Gracie is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Zampietre has managed to free his arm - good work.

Gracie is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Zampietre is just riding it out for now. Gracie eventually gives up the hold.
Zampietre is in trouble now - Gracie has advanced to mount!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Gracie lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Gracie can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Zampietre is looking to escape.

Gracie is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Zampietre is surviving well by controlling Gracie's body position as best he can.
Gracie with a couple of short strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kron Gracie dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Zampietre with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Gracie to score with a decent uppercut.

Zampietre gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Gracie to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Gracie looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Zampietre avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Gracie.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Gracie lands a nice short elbow.

Gracie is trying to work for a kimura but Zampietre is defending well.

Gracie lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Gracie with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Kron Gracie.
Gracie shoots in looking for a takedown. Zampietre tries to sprawl out of it but Gracie keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Zampietre manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Gracie jabs Zampietre right on the nose. Zampietre blinks but takes it well.
Gracie misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Gracie lands a jab to the nose.

Gracie fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Zampietre, pushing him back against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A hook to the body from Gracie.

Gracie manages to break the clinch.
Zampietre needs to keep his hands up - Gracie had a free shot at his head there.
Nice uppercut lands for Gracie. That snapped Zampietre's head back.
Zampietre is breathing heavily.

Gracie fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Zampietre, pushing him back against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Zampietre drops down looking for an ankle pick but Gracie pulls his leg out and moves away.
Zampietre walks into a stiff left hand from Gracie.
Gracie lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Kron Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Gracie scores with a jab. Zampietre acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Gracie feints and as Zampietre raises his hands in defense, Gracie changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kron Gracie dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Zampietre wants to clinch

and Gracie counters with a nice double leg into side control. Zampietre won't be happy with that.
Gracie wants to control but Zampietre is keeping him busy.
Gracie is chipping away with strikes.
Zampietre takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Gracie thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Zampietre is working to avoid the ground and pound but Gracie connects with a decent elbow.

Gracie is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Zampietre can do to turn this around?

Gracie is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Zampietre knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Jeffe Zampietre has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Gracie cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Gracie takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
A nice elbow there by Gracie.

Gracie landing strikes, looking to finish!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Gracie is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Zampietre has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Gracie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Zampietre is bucking up trying to escape but Gracie cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gracie looking to control and managing it successfully.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kron Gracie showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Gracie has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
