Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jaidee Fairtex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Gibson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gibson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Fairtex swivels and escapes.
Fairtex misses with a few strikes there.
Gibson tries to clinch but Fairtex moves out of range.
Fairtex digs a good hook to Gibson's body.
Fairtex throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gibson shoots in looking for a takedown. Fairtex tries to sprawl out of it but Gibson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fairtex manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Fairtex lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gibson circles away quickly and effectively.

Gibson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fairtex gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Gibson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Fairtex manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gibson has Fairtex in his guard.
Fairtex drops back looking for a leg! Gibson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gibson manages to kick Fairtex off! Fairtex jumps back into Gibson's guard.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Gibson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Fairtex circles away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Fairtex throws a right hand that Gibson ducks under and follows up with a left that Gibson also avoids with ease.

Gibson dives in and grabs Fairtex's left leg, looking for a takedown. Fairtex pushes down on Gibson's head and hops out.
Jaidee Fairtex has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Scott Gibson.

Fairtex stalks Gibson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Gibson's face. Gibson staggers backwards, shaken.

Gibson is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
