Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marv Statler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jan Kos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jan Kos told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Statler tries to clinch there but Kos circles away.

Statler drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Statler throws a strike but Kos rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Statler ducks under a wild hook from Kos.
Statler tries to close the distance and clinch but Kos swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Statler fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kos, pushing him back against the cage.

Statler lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Kos!
Kos tries to lock up and control but Statler gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Marv Statler overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Kos is trying desperately to improve position.
