PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jonny Parry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocky Balboa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Parry kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is yall must ov forgot. Balboa is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Gonna Fly Now. Rocky Balboa told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jonny Parry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rocky Balboa !
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Hugh Johnson and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parry tries to clinch but Balboa moves out of range.
Parry looks to land a combination but Balboa avoids it well.
Parry fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Parry closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Balboa to the mat! Balboa manages to get full guard.
Parry really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Balboa had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Parry is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Balboa Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Parry's back instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Parry manages to reverse the position and now he's in Balboa 's guard. Nice work there by Parry.
Parry tries to free his leg and advance position but Balboa is retaining full guard.

Parry gets to his feet. Balboa looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Parry changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Balboa tries to avoid it but Parry manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Balboa to the ground. Balboa escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Parry tries to close the distance and clinch but Balboa swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Parry throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Balboa 's waist but Balboa gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Parry off to one side.

Balboa has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Parry regains guard immediately.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Balboa is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Parry can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Oh Parry is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Well Balboa has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
