The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silver shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rogers defends it nicely.
Rogers throws a nice looking combination but Silver bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Silver closes the distance and clinches.
Silver has Rogers pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Rogers manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Silver tries to score a body lock takedown but Rogers shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Silver gets control of Rogers's arms and successfully pulls guard. Silver will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Silver clinches up with Rogers and pushes him back against the cage.

and Silver counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

and Silver counters with an outside leg kick.

Rogers scores with a crisp jab that stopped Silver in his tracks.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Rogers connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

and Silver holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Silver pulls guard successfully.
Rogers stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silver swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Rogers is looking to advance position but Silver has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Rogers really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silver. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Long Dong Silver is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rogers can do anything to dispel that myth.
Silver is pushing down on Rogers's leg trying to pass to half guard. Rogers is fighting to maintain full guard but Silver has managed to sneak the leg through.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Long Dong Silver.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Silver, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
