The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Anthony Taglia and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matthews shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Matthews looks to land a right hand but Harvey moved out of range.
No joy there for Matthews, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Matthews closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Matthews throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
The fighters circling - Matthews throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Matthews ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Harvey moves away.

Harvey takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Matthews throws a nice looking combination but Harvey bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Matthews swings away with a body shot that misses
enabling Harvey to counter with a crisp jab.
Matthews misses with a hook.
Matthews throws a looping overhand right but Harvey ducks down to avoid it.
Matthews doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Harvey uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Matthews.
Harvey lands with an uppercut that bounces Matthews off the cage and back into rage.
Harvey might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Matthews throws a lazy right hand but Harvey sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

and Harvey counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Kevin Matthews seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Harvey fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Harvey lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Harvey lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Harvey thuds a left hand into Matthews's body.
Matthews takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Harvey changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Harvey lands a nice hook to Matthews's body. Matthews takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Whack! Harvey lands a heavy head kick that drops Matthews. The ref tackles Harvey to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Matthews was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Paul Harvey!
