Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hatsu Ishikawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alex Alves is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hatsu Ishikawa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Alex Alves!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves tries to clinch but Ishikawa is having none of it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ishikawa changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Alves looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

You can see the frustration on Alves's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Alves postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Ishikawa wants to stand and escape but Alves is having none of it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
