PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Emmagan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ron Braunstein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ron Braunstein told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A solid leg kick lands there for Emmagan.
Emmagan moves in looking to clinch but Braunstein pushes him off.
Braunstein fails with the takedown.
Emmagan tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Braunstein paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A nice inside leg kick there by Emmagan. That's going to slow Braunstein down.
An inside leg kick lands from Emmagan.
Braunstein looks gassed!
Emmagan tries to clinch but Braunstein moves out of range.
Emmagan wants to clinch up but Braunstein keeps it at a distance.
A chopping leg kick lands by Emmagan.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Braunstein takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Emmagan feints and then cracks Braunstein's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Braunstein down.
Braunstein takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

It looks like Ron Braunstein has been cut.
Emmagan wants to clinch up but Braunstein keeps it at a distance.
Braunstein swats away the attempt to clinch by Emmagan.
Braunstein on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Emmagan. Emmagan obviously looking to wear him down.

Braunstein tries to keep at a distance but Emmagan has taken the fight into the clinch.

Emmagan successfully pulls guard.
Emmagan bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Braunstein's guard.
Emmagan pushing down on Braunstein's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Braunstein is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Emmagan scores with a couple of nice shots.
Braunstein really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Emmagan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Emmagan throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Emmagan uses his free foot to push down on Braunstein's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Braunstein.

Braunstein really wants to buck Emmagan off and get back to his feet.

Braunstein defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Emmagan.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Emmagan is working for a guillotine from mount but Braunstein frees his head quite easily.

Emmagan is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Braunstein is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Braunstein flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Emmagan anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Braunstein and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Emmagan slips an arm under Braunstein chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Emmagan has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Emmagan is squeezing on Braunstein like an anaconda would it's prey. Braunstein fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
