Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between yii kuu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donal McGuire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, yii kuu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Donal McGuire!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Glass and Andrew Berry.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from kuu.
McGuire swats away the attempt to clinch by kuu.
A combination from kuu does no damage.
kuu moves in looking to clinch but McGuire pushes him off.
McGuire shoots in but no luck this time.
kuu throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
kuu shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and McGuire decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in kuu's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
McGuire forces his way into half guard.
McGuire frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
kuu tries to reverse the position but McGuire maintains control.

kuu defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from McGuire.

McGuire working for a submission but kuu is keeping him at bay.
kuu is working to get back to half guard.

McGuire goes for an armbar but he's not got it… kuu turns into him and now he's in McGuire's guard.

McGuire has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but kuu can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
McGuire looks gassed!
kuu slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
kuu has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

McGuire has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but kuu can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
kuu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McGuire swivels though and keeps the full guard.

kuu knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McGuire on the ground.

McGuire is looking to sinch up a triangle. kuu throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to McGuire's body to avoid the submission. McGuire has instead reached around kuu's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! McGuire arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
