Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Renato Everest (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Everest comes to the cage accompanied by Pan Panamericano. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eric Brown!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Felipe Paraventi and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Everest dives in and grabs Brown's left leg, looking for a takedown. Brown pushes down on Everest's head and hops out.
A looping hook to the body misses from Brown. Everest does a little dance to reset his feet.

Brown closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Brown throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Everest can't get the takedown.

It looks like Renato Everest has been cut.

Everest has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Brown is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Brown throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Brown is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Brown stalks Everest and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Everest's face. Everest staggers backwards, shaken.
Everest shoots in but Brown avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Good leg kick by Brown there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Brown throws a lazy right hand but Everest sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Everest looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Brown is fending him off so far but Everest persists. Nope, Brown circles away and we're back to standing.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Everest. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Everest wants to take a breather but Brown is having none of it.
Brown makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Brown.

Everest drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Everest jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Brown can do anything to dispel that myth.

Everest is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Brown is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Brown has escaped and now he's on top!

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Everest crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Brown - the referee stops the clock and Everest gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Brown. Everest manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
