PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Chris Silvers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jally Joseph (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silvers kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Con te Partiro. Joseph has chosen SEX U UP as his entrance music. Jally Joseph acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Jally Joseph!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Daniel Bishop and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joseph fails with the takedown.
Joseph tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Silvers is able to avoid easily.

Silvers is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Joseph gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Silvers jumps guard but Joseph stands there with Silvers around his waist. Silvers gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Joseph lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Silvers circles away quickly and effectively.
Joseph throws a series of punches but Silvers moves out of range.

Silvers is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Joseph knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Silvers creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Joseph sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Joseph's corner calls for a 1-2. Joseph obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Silvers escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Joseph gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Joseph throws a lazy right hand but Silvers sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Joseph swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Joseph misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Joseph misses the jab.
Joseph misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Joseph shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Silvers sprawls well. Silvers wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Joseph gets slowly back to his feet.
Jally Joseph seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Silvers's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Joseph is holding on here and Silvers must be using up a lot of energy. Joseph has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Silvers gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
