Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dexter Ransom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Phoenix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ransom comes into the arena with fight fire with fire - metallica blaring out of the sound system. Phoenix has chosen Phoenix as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phoenix shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ransom but Ransom pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Ransom is looking to clinch.
Ransom scores with a hook to the body. Phoenix takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Phoenix fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Phoenix fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ransom sprawls well initially but Phoenix persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Phoenix postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Ransom looks a forlorn figure.

Phoenix cracks Ransom with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Ransom is desperately trying to improve his position but Phoenix has a good base and remains in mount.

Ransom knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Phoenix on the ground.
