Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Crash Davis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daniel Laruso!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laruso dodges the punch combination from Davis.
Davis throws a shot from downtown. Laruso moves away and avoids it.
Crash Davis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Laruso is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Davis's half guard.
Laruso wants to pass the guard but Davis is defending well.

Laruso is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Davis defends it well.
Davis wants to get back to his feet.
Laruso thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Davis avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Laruso.

Davis actively working from the bottom here.
Laruso missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Davis is trying to stand up here but Laruso is controlling him well.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Laruso looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Davis is fending him off so far but Laruso persists. Nope, Davis circles away and we're back to standing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Laruso has a takedown stuffed.

Davis drops Laruso with a right and a left! Davis comes rushing in but Laruso regains his composure and manages to keep Davis in guard.


It looks like Daniel Laruso has been cut.

Davis has gone for a leg lock! Laruso slips out almost immediately though and dives into Davis's guard.
Laruso is pushing down on Davis's leg trying to pass to half guard. Davis is fighting to maintain full guard but Laruso has managed to sneak the leg through.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Laruso decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Davis lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
No luck for Laruso with that takedown attempt.
Crash Davis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Laruso.
Laruso looks gassed!
Davis throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Davis rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Laruso moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Davis swinging wildly here.

Laruso drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Laruso forces his way into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Laruso thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Davis's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Davis pushes Laruso off and gets back to his feet.
Nice uppercut there from Davis.
Davis thows a left - swing and a miss!
Laruso closes the distance and clinches up with Davis, looking for a takedown. Laruso pushes Davis against the cage but Davis circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Davis throws a shot from downtown. Laruso moves away and avoids it.
Laruso fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Davis avoids it really well and circles away.
Davis with a nice cross.


Laruso is rocked!
Davis misses with a straight left.
Laruso is still on wobbly legs! Can Davis finish him?
Laruso is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Davis misses with an uppercut. Laruso saw that one coming.
Davis lands with a big right hook that stumbles Laruso - he's out on his feet here! Davis follows up with another monster hook that separates Laruso from consciousness! Laruso falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Davis stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Crash Davis!
