Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shelby throws a right and a left that both miss.
A cross from Dee lands.

Dee gets a takedown into half guard.
Dee with the ground and pound but Shelby uses the opportunity to regain guard.

Shelby escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dee gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Dee postures up and lands a big shot to Shelby's brow.

Shelby looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Dee thows a big elbow that misses.
Shelby keeping moving, preventing Dee from controlling successfully.
Dee has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Dee looking to sit in guard and control but Shelby gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Dee trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Dee trying to keep a closed guard but Shelby is proving a slippery customer.
Dee is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Shelby gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Dee counters with a shoot takedown. Shelby fights it but they end up in guard.

Dee stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shelby swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dee trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Dee trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Dee is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Dee wants to control from the top but Shelby keeps moving.

Shelby is looking for a triangle but Dee pushes his legs off easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shelby looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Dee is trying desperately to improve position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Shelby is trying to take his opponent's back.

A close round but Lew Shelby will probably get the nod.

Dee fails with the takedown

and Shelby counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Dee tries to get to full guard but Shelby has control of the leg.
Dee wants to get back to full guard but Shelby has mounted him!
Dee is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Shelby looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Dee is looking to get to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dee is working hard here to advance position.
Dee flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

Shelby looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Dee srikes from the bottom but he's lost position and has given up his back.

Shelby missing with punches from the back.

Shelby is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Dee has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Shelby has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Dee taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Shelby doesn't care though - he's delighted!
