The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Shimada and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Brown looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Brown tries to close the distance and clinch but Cottero swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Cottero tries a low kick but Brown avoids it.
Brown comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Cottero ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Brown moves away.
Cottero bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Brown moves forwards but Cottero connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Tommy Cottero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brown takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Cottero is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Brown had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Cottero fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Brown manages to avoid it.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Cottero creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Brown is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Brown stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Cottero.
Cottero drives through and clinches with Brown against the cage.

Oh Brown is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Cottero creates some distance for himselfand unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Brown's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Brown drops to his knees and Cottero pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
