Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between super mario (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Brown has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, super mario!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brown drives through and clinches with mario against the cage.
Brown connects with a knee to the head.
Brown wants a takedown but no success here.

Brown breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
mario shoots in looking for a takedown. Brown tries to sprawl out of it but mario keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Brown manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Horrible takedown by Brown or perhaps it was just good defense by mario which made him look bad.

Brown shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. mario manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Brown trying to control but mario is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
mario controls Brown momentarily but Brown frees himself.
Brown trying to control the position from guard on top but mario is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Brown drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and mario dives on top into guard.
mario working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Brown's head.
Brown wants to stand but mario is controlling the position.
mario trying to control the position from guard on top but Brown is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Brown can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as mario controls the pace.
mario wants to control from the top but Brown keeps moving.
Brown manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Poor strikes thrown by Brown there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
mario sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Brown seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Brown doesn't manage to clinch there - mario circles away.

Brown is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

mario is looking to break free of the clinch but Brown has double underhooks.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

and Brown counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
mario pulls Brown in close to prevent any damage.
Brown wants to stand but mario is controlling his posture from full guard.
mario bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Brown's guard.
mario passes Brown's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Brown shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and mario counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Brown shoots in for a takedown but mario shows good takedown defense.
Brown wants to clinch up but mario keeps it at a distance.
mario stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and mario wants it to stay on the feet.

mario shoots for a double leg takedown but Brown sprawls well. He's pushed mario's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Brown gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Brown putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has mario in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

mario tries to pull guard but Brown holds him up against the cage and eventually mario drops back down to his feet.

mario avoids a kick to the body.
mario shoots for a takedown but Brown saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Brown is looking to clinch but mario is avoiding it.

Brown is looking to stand up but mario isn't so interested in that idea.

mario wants to stand but Brown has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
mario might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
mario stands and throws Brown's legs to the side, diving into side control.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Brown fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with mario, pushing him back against the cage.

Brown throws a combination but it was largely blocked by mario.
Brown shoots in and drives through. mario sprawls well.

mario tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Brown just stands there and leans against the cage.
Brown has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. mario is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
mario lands a left hand that snaps the head of Brown backwards.
mario tries to pull guard but Brown holds him up against the cage and eventually mario drops back down to his feet.
mario wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
mario wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Brown has him pressed against the cage.

Brown works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Brown stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. mario swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Brown wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of mario's closed guard. He's half up but mario has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! mario pivots and extends the arm, Brown falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by mario! Well done that man!
