Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between George Beurling (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franky French (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Beurling kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Sex Pistols - Bodies. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Franky French!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Steve Montenegro and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
French tries to bum rush Beurling with a series of wild strikes but Beurling uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Beurling throws a head kick that French semi-blocks.


It looks like Franky French has been cut.
French misses with a low kick.
French wants to clinch.
Beurling avoids the body shot from French.
French slips under a jab from Beurling.
French throws a right and a left that both miss.
Beurling lands with a cross.

French has taken the fight to the clinch.
French looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

French is still in real trouble! Can Beurling finish him?

Beurling looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
French seems to have recovered his senses.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
French is looking for a sweep. Beurling is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

French tries to kick Beurling off but Beurling keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
French is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of George Beurling.

Beurling has his foot on French's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. French works his way back into a safe position though.
Beurling bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in French's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Beurling is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Well Beurling has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
