Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sol Tavarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Uriel Amok (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Amok has chosen Devils as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sol Tavarez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Uriel Amok!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Amok misses the jab.
Amok cracks Tavarez with a good jab.

Amok throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Tavarez was covering up waiting for the punch and Amok finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Amok stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tavarez swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tavarez manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Tavarez wants to stand and escape but instead Amok has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Amok stands and throws Tavarez's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Tavarez is not content to let Amok control the position.
Amok misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Amok throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tavarez's waist but Tavarez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Amok off to one side.

Amok seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Tavarez does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Amok connects with a nice short shot to Tavarez's temple.

Uriel Amok showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Amok shoots in looking for a takedown. Tavarez tries to sprawl out of it but Amok keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tavarez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Amok got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tavarez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Amok has managed to get both his arms back between Tavarez's legs - danger averted.
