Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Trenton Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dbag Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thompson gets a clinch.
Smith controlling the action here for a moment.
Smith is trying to break the clinch but Thompson has him pressed against the cage.
Smith tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Thompson's elbow.
Thompson is working for takedown but Smith is calmly controlling the position for now.

Thompson pulls guard successfully.
Smith stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Thompson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smith has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Thompson is proving hard to escape from.
Smith trying to control the position from guard on top but Thompson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Smith pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Thompson is keeping the position for now.
Thompson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Smith's guard.
Thompson wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving.

Thompson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Smith wants to sweep here but Thompson controlling him for the moment.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Smith wants to stand and escape but Thompson is having none of it.

Thompson gets to his feet. Smith looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Thompson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Smith's guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Smith looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Thompson trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Smith misses with a few strikes there.
Thompson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Smith avoids it really well and circles away.
Thompson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Smith misses with the combination.
Smith misses the shot to the body.
Horrible takedown by Thompson or perhaps it was just good defense by Smith which made him look bad.

Smith throws a series of punches but Thompson avoids them all with ease.

Thompson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Thompson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Thompson jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Smith manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Thompson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Smith keeps working.
Smith tries to buck Thompson off but Thompson is having none of it.

Thompson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Smith manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Smith tries to stand but can't do so whilst Thompson controls his leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith is looking to stall here but Thompson recovers full guard.
Smith is breathing heavily.

Smith sitting in guard doing not very much at all here. Thompson doesn't need a second invitation though! He's locked up a guillotine and he's squeezing tight! That is tiiiiiiiiight! Smith paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Thompson - great work!
