PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Roman Kozlov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clarence Azarcon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kozlov comes into the arena with Eminem-Till I Colapse blaring out of the sound system. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Roman Kozlov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Clarence Azarcon!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Konstantin Menshow and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kozlov tries to close the distance and clinch up but Azarcon swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Azarcon looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Kozlov is trying hard to land a takedown here. Azarcon sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Kozlov takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kozlov looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Kozlov shoots in looking for a takedown. Azarcon tries to sprawl out of it but Kozlov keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Azarcon manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Kozlov defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Azarcon.
Kozlov shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Azarcon as he avoids it easily.

Azarcon gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kozlov to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kozlov in particular looking to stall.

Kozlov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Azarcon with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Azarcon is staying active underneath Kozlov, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kozlov is nestled in close to Azarcon, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Azarcon is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kozlov defends well.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kozlov accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Kozlov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Azarcon swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Azarcon is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Kozlov looking to sit in guard and control but Azarcon gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Azarcon won't allow Kozlov to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Azarcon closes the distance and pushes Kozlov back into the cage.
Kozlov is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Azarcon clinches up with Kozlov and pushes him back against the cage.
Kozlov can't get the takedown.
Kozlov changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Azarcon fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Azarcon looks for the body kick but Kozlov saw that one coming.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Azarcon can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kozlov is looking to escape.
Kozlov on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kozlov tries to get out of the position.
Kozlov tries to hold on but Azarcon pushes him away.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kozlov tries to hold on but Azarcon pushes him away.

Azarcon throws a strike there. Kozlov manages to avoid it well and slips a leg under to get to half guard.

Clarence Azarcon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Roman Kozlov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kozlov is looking to stand back up but Azarcon counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Kozlov.

It looks like Azarcon is going to stand back up.
Azarcon is stalling here. Kozlov is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Azarcon seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Kozlov has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Azarcon tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kozlov wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Azarcon tries to improve position but can't.
Kozlov lands a decent elbow from side control.
Azarcon tries to bench press Kozlov off him but Kozlov keeps the position.
Azarcon can't do much from the bottom here.
Azarcon is working to avoid the ground and pound but Kozlov connects with a decent elbow.
You can see the frustration on Azarcon's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Azarcon wants to get back to his feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Kozlov shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Azarcon manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kozlov accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Kozlov is in close to Azarcon's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Kozlov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Azarcon on the ground.

Kozlov throws and elbow that misses. Azarcon uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kozlov's guard. Nice move by Azarcon!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

I would just about give that final round to Clarence Azarcon.
I think Azarcon has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
