PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Peter Woodhall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derick Larkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Peter Woodhall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Derick Larkin!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Glass and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woodhall tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Larkin swivels and escapes.
Woodhall misses with a body kick.

Woodhall drives through with a takedown into guard.

Woodhall drops back looking for a leg! Larkin is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Larkin manages to kick Woodhall off! Woodhall jumps back into Larkin's guard.
Larkin thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Larkin is looking to stand up but Woodhall isn't so interested in that idea.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Woodhall is taking a breather. Larkin says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Woodhall is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Larkin defends it well.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Woodhall lands a nice short elbow.
Woodhall is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Woodhall shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Woodhall was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

No luck for Woodhall with that takedown attempt.
Peter Woodhall is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Woodhall turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Woodhall manages to end up in side control.

Woodhall tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Woodhall has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Woodhall closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Woodhall lands in his opponent's guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Peter Woodhall.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Woodhall, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
