Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Crash Davis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jack Ryan!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Igor Prikhodko and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis closes the distance and clinches up with Ryan, looking for a takedown. Davis pushes Ryan against the cage but Ryan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Davis scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Davis wants to control but Ryan is keeping him busy.
Ryan tries to improve position but can't.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ryan is looking to reverse the position.

Davis is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Ryan has managed to free his arm - good work.
Davis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ryan keeps working.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Davis looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Davis doesn't manage to clinch there - Ryan circles away.

Ryan shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ryan showed some decent athleticism there.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Ryan decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Ryan drops back, looking for a kneebar! Davis looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Davis looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Davis!
Davis will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round but I would say that Crash Davis will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Ryan keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Davis closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ryan to the mat! Ryan manages to get full guard.

Davis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ryan's waist but Ryan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Davis off to one side.

and Ryan counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Davis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ryan on the ground.
Ryan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Davis swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Davis escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ryan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Ryan takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
