The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Kostaja avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kostaja tries to clinch there but Johnson circles away.
Kostaja throws a combination that misses

so Johnson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Johnson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Kostaja is trying to control the position but Johnson postures up.

Kostaja is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Johnson pushes down on Kostaja's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Johnson is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Kostaja!

Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kostaja. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kostaja wants to sweep here but Johnson controlling him for the moment.

Johnson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kostaja swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kostaja might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Johnson tries to stand but Kostaja is controlling from the bottom.
Johnson throws and elbow that misses. Kostaja uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Johnson's guard. Nice move by Kostaja!
Johnson is looking to stand up but Kostaja isn't so interested in that idea.

Johnson is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Johnson closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Kostaja misses with a series of wild punches.
Johnson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Kostaja scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Kostaja drops Johnson with a beautiful combination! Johnson stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Kostaja is looking for the KO!

It looks like John Johnson has been cut.
Kostaja wants to clinch.
Kostaja misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
No luck for Johnson with that takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but John Johnson will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Johnson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kostaja as he avoids it easily.
Kostaja scores with a hook to the body. Johnson takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Kostaja not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Johnson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Kostaja has his foot on Johnson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Johnson works his way back into a safe position though.
Kostaja is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Kostaja is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Johnson defends it well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kostaja wants to clinch up but Johnson keeps it at a distance.
Kostaja ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Johnson moves away.
Kostaja rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Johnson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Johnson lands with an uppercut that bounces Kostaja off the cage and back into rage.

Kostaja lands with a massive overhand right! Stick a fork in Johnson - he's out cold! Ermm... I think I just mixed my metaphors but yeah... That was a nice KO! Big win for Kostaja!
