PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dan Augusto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raiuga A (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). A has chosen Adriano ta me ouvindo? as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dan Augusto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Mauricio Rocha and Seu Braga.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Augusto takes the fight into the clinch.
A looking for a takedown.
A tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Augusto smiles and moves away.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from A.
Dan Augusto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Raiuga A.
Augusto throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around A's waist but A gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Augusto off to one side.
A tries for a takedown but Augusto circles away easily

and Augusto counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
A working a defensive guard but Augusto manages to pass into side control anyway.

A is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Augusto cracks A with a big elbow.
Augusto is working A over with some ground and pound from side control.

Augusto stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Augusto feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Augusto decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on A, up you get!
Augusto fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Augusto throws a series of punches but A avoids them all with ease.
Augusto is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Augusto throws a head kick that misses.
A gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Augusto misses with a double jab.
A closes the distance but Augusto moves to the side

and Augusto counters with a takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A can't do much from the bottom here.
Augusto tries to move into full mount but can't pass A's legs.

A explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
A fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Augusto.
A head kick misses from A.
Augusto stuffs the takedown.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Augusto.
A is looking to regain half guard here but Augusto keeps moving and retains side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Augusto cracks A with a big right hand but A just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Augusto is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down A's shoulder. That is not cool.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Augusto has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for A!
A is trying to reverse the position but instead Augusto has taken his back - oops!
A is trying to get back to his feet but Augusto has full control of the position and if anything, A has just worked his way into a worse spot.

A won't enjoy being in this position. Augusto looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - A is tapping - it's over boys! Augusto picks up the submission victory!
