PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Internet Gangsta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Brit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brit throws a hook but Gangsta blocks it.
Brit misses with a wild combination.
Gangsta misses with a body kick.
Brit misses with a few strikes there.
Gangsta ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Gangsta showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Brit.

Gangsta shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Brit's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Gangsta prevents Brit from getting back to his feet.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gangsta accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gangsta is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Brit is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Brit has escaped and now he's on top!
Gangsta will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Brit avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Brit must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Brit has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Gangsta is proving hard to escape from.
Gangsta seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Gangsta wants to stand up but Brit is controlling him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Brit wants to stand but Gangsta is controlling his posture from full guard.
Gangsta thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Gangsta manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Gangsta goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Brit is on top in guard.

Gangsta is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Brit defends well.

Brit would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Gangsta wants to sweep but no luck.
Gangsta throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Gangsta is pulling down on Brit's head. It's preventing any offense from Brit, at least for the moment.
Brit wants to get up but he can't break Gangsta's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Brit stands and steps away. Gangsta gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Gangsta tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

It looks like Internet Gangsta has been cut.
Gangsta ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Gangsta fails in his attempt to clinch.
Gangsta bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Brit throws a right hand that Gangsta ducks under and follows up with a left that Gangsta also avoids with ease.

The cut man is working on Internet Gangsta's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Brit throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Gangsta sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Brit throws out a loose jab but Gangsta uses good head movement to avoid it.
Gangsta takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Brit rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gangsta moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Brit throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Brit takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Brit throws a looping overhand right but Gangsta ducks down to avoid it.
Gangsta moves away from the strike by Brit.
Gangsta has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Brit finds it's way round the side to connect with Gangsta's head.
Internet Gangsta is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A slow jab from Brit misses its intended target.
Nice takedown defense from Brit. No joy for Gangsta on that attempt.

Gangsta shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gangsta was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Internet Gangsta dominated that second round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Brit throws a looping overhand right but Gangsta ducks down to avoid it.
Gangsta takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Gangsta feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Gangsta drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Brit manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gangsta has Brit in his guard.

Gangsta is looking to stand up but Brit isn't so interested in that idea.

Brit stands up from Gangsta's guard - Brit perhaps looking for a knockout.
Brit's corner calls for a 1-2. Brit obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Gangsta shoots in for a double leg but Brit sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Gangsta tries to close the distance and clinch up but Brit swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Gangsta uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Brit.

Gangsta takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Brit looks to land a combination. Gangsta sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Gangsta uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Brit.
Brit might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Nice uppercut lands for Brit. That snapped Gangsta's head back.

Gangsta can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Brit is looking to escape.
Gangsta throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Brit because Gangsta loaded up on that one.
You get the feeling that Brit really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Gangsta is landing with some decent strikes but Brit is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gangsta fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Johnny Brit comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
