Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between John The Beast (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John The Beast!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jim Bob!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shirou Masuda and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Beast shoots in but Bob avoids the takedown attempt easily.

The Beast scores a takedown into full mount!
The Beast trying to control but Bob is having none of it.
Bob really doesn't want to stay on the ground with The Beast. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Bob tries to improve his position but instead The Beast has taken his back!
Bob trying to control the action but The Beast just sinks the hooks in.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The Beast is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Bob tries to roll but The Beast sticks to his back.

Bob tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Bob tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Bob is looking to break free of the clinch but The Beast has double underhooks.
The Beast tries to circle away but Bob has him pinned against the cage.

Bob has The Beast pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. The Beast manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

The Beast wants to control from the top but Bob keeps moving.

and The Beast decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bob's guard.
The Beast stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bob swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Bob is trying to keep The Beast in close.
The Beast stands up over Bob, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The Beast controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The Beast works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bob tries to kick The Beast off but The Beast keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The Beast is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Bob tries to get to full guard but The Beast has control of the leg.
Bob is trying to control but The Beast passes into side control!
Bob seems a little lost for a moment, as The Beast dominates the positioning.

The Beast is trying to get an arm triangle but Bob is defending well.

The Beast has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Bob doesn't succeed with the takedown

and The Beast counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bob's guard now.
The Beast keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Bob's head.
The Beast controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Bob is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Bob works his way into full mount!
Bob trying to control but The Beast is having none of it.
The Beast holds on for dear life.
The Beast taking shots to the head.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Poor strikes thrown by Bob there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The Beast slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Bob wants to lay and pray for a moment but The Beast keeps working.
The Beast keeping hold of Bob's head, controlling as best he can.

The Beast pushes Bob off and gets back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John The Beast dominated that second round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



Bob shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Bob showed some decent athleticism there.
The Beast might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The Beast trying to control but Bob postures up.
Bob tries to stand and escape but The Beast actually recovers to full guard.
Bob lands a couple of elbows.

Bob got a little sloppy there for a moment and The Beast has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bob has managed to get both his arms back between The Beast's legs - danger averted.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Bob working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Bob must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The Beast wants to get back to his feet but Bob is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Bob is looking to stand up but The Beast won't let him.
The Beast looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as The Beast holds on and takes a little breather.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The Beast trying to control but Bob postures up.
Bob thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed The Beast's head.
Bob is trying to control the action in half guard but The Beast is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The Beast pushes Bob off and gets back to his feet.
Bob tries to clinch

and The Beast counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Bob is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bob is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The Beast slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Bob looking to hit a scissor sweep but The Beast is one step ahead there.
The Beast slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The Beast's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for The Beast, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
