PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Furstenfeld (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Panzram (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Furstenfeld comes into the arena with Linkin Park - No More Sorrow blaring out of the sound system. Carl Panzram will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Charlie Furstenfeld!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carl Panzram!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Jonathan Paton and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Panzram fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Panzram pivots, looking for a leg kick but Furstenfeld is out of range and Panzram settles back down.
Panzram avoids a punch combination nicely.
Furstenfeld moves out of range of the body kick.
Furstenfeld keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Furstenfeld feints and as Panzram raises his hands in defense, Furstenfeld changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Furstenfeld stays in close to Panzram's body and controls the position.
Furstenfeld wants to pass the guard but Panzram is keeping the position.
Furstenfeld postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Furstenfeld throwing strikes but missing.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Panzram is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Furstenfeld drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Panzram manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Furstenfeld has Panzram in his guard.
Furstenfeld looking for a sweep. Not yet Furstenfeld, not yet.
Panzram wants to control from the top but Furstenfeld keeps moving.
Furstenfeld keeping full guard, as Panzram tries to pass.
Furstenfeld looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Panzram's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Furstenfeld has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Panzram is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Furstenfeld.
Panzram lands an elbow.
Furstenfeld has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Panzram trying to control the action but Furstenfeld is working from the bottom.
Panzram lands a decent elbow from side control.
Furstenfeld is trying to control Panzram's posture but Panzram avoids it.
Panzram misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Panzram fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Furstenfeld prevents Panzram from moving into mount.
Panzram trying to control the position but Furstenfeld is working away.

Panzram is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Furstenfeld is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Panzram passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Furstenfeld!
Furstenfeld is desperately trying to improve his position but Panzram has a good base and remains in mount.
Furstenfeld regains half guard.
Furstenfeld is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Panzram's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Panzram's back!

Furstenfeld looking for the choke but no joy.
Panzram trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

Furstenfeld has managed to slip his arm under Panzram's chin. This could be all over... yep, Panzram is tapping out! Submission win for Furstenfeld.
