Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brad Easton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Orion Cook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brad Easton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Orion Cook!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Easton misses.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Cook crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Easton - the referee stops the clock and Cook gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Easton. Cook manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Easton lands a head kick. Cook smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
A looping hook to the body misses from Easton. Cook does a little dance to reset his feet.
Easton fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Cook is out of range.
Cook blocks a head kick by Easton.
Cook moves out of range of the strikes.
Cook checks the leg kick.
Easton lands with a thumping leg kick.

Easton gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Cook trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Cook drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Easton dives on top into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cook is pulling down on Easton's head to control his posture.

Cook looking for a sweep. Not yet Cook, not yet.

Cook is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Easton defends well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cook is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Cook thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Easton's head.
Easton is trying to stand up here but Cook is controlling him well.
Cook has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Cook wants to free his trapped foot but Easton is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Cook throws a strike but Easton avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Easton throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Cook dodges the punch combination from Easton.

Easton tries to work over Cook's front leg with a kick but Cook checks it.

Easton lands a head kick!
Easton throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Easton ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Cook takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Cook shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Cook was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Cook goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Easton is on top in guard.
Cook looks gassed!

Cook looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Cook tries to land a sweep but no joy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Easton.
Easton throws a nice outside leg kick.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Easton.
Easton thuds his shin into the meat of Cook's side.
A solid leg kick lands there for Easton.
Easton is looking to slow Cook down with leg kicks.
Easton stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Easton wants it to stay on the feet.

Easton lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Easton thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Cook if he has to take too many more of those.

Cook throws an overhand right that lands on Easton's shoulder, as Easton tries to avoid the shot.

Easton looks to land a combination but Cook avoids it well.
Cook moves out of range of the body kick.

Easton fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Easton tries to clinch but Cook is having none of it.

Cook shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Easton manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Cook loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Easton wants to stand but Cook is controlling the position.
Orion Cook has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Cook is pushing down on Easton's leg trying to pass to half guard. Easton is fighting to maintain full guard but Cook has managed to sneak the leg through.

Cook is looking for a kimura but Easton is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cook to get the leverage.

Cook is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Easton is just riding it out for now. Cook eventually gives up the hold.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Easton, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
