PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Cannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aamakualenalena Robinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Robinson has chosen The Verve- Bittersweet Symphony as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

With a record of 8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Aamakualenalena Robinson!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robinson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cannon sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Robinson somewhat.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Cannon checks a leg kick.
Robinson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Cannon is fending him off so far but Robinson persists. Nope, Cannon circles away and we're back to standing.
Nice defenses there by Robinson.
Robinson shoots for a double leg takedown but Cannon sprawls well. He's pushed Robinson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Matthew Cannon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aamakualenalena Robinson.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Robinson.
Robinson shoots in but Cannon avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Robinson ducks under a wild hook from Cannon.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cannon throws the left hand but Robinson avoids the punch easily.
Robinson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cannon tries to avoid it but Robinson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cannon to the ground. Cannon escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Robinson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cannon throws out the jab.
Cannon displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Robinson.
Robinson is looking to clinch.

Robinson needs to keep his hands up - Cannon had a free shot at his head there.

It looks like Aamakualenalena Robinson has been cut.
Robinson moves in looking to clinch but Cannon pushes him off.
Cannon throws a big shot that misses.
Cannon lands a really nice looking cross but Robinson seems unphased.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cannon misses with an uppercut.
Robinson moves away from the strike by Cannon.
Robinson slips under a jab.
Robinson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cannon's waist but Cannon gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Robinson off to one side.
Robinson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cannon pinned against the cage. Cannon gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Robinson looks gassed!
Cannon fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Robinson to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Robinson looks to clinch but Cannon throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Robinson taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
