Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hank Dodson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marcus Jones has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcus Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hank Dodson!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dodson throws a nice looking combination but Jones bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Jones closes the distance and clinches up with Dodson, looking for a takedown. Jones pushes Dodson against the cage but Dodson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Dodson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Dodson stands up.
Dodson feints and as Jones raises his hands in defense, Dodson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Jones wants to sweep here but Dodson controlling him for the moment.
Jones manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Dodson manages to get himself to full guard.
Jones in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Dodson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Dodson is controlling Jones's posture.
Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Jones is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Jones postures up and lands a big shot to Dodson's brow.
Jones will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Dodson wants to get back to his feet but Jones is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Dodson wants to sweep but no luck.
Jones wants to control from the top but Dodson keeps moving.
Jones forces his way into half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dodson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Dodson is looking to control Jones's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dodson avoid being mounted?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dodson is not content to let Jones control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones prevents Dodson from standing back up.
Jones works his way into full mount!
Jones tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Dodson reaches up to try and control the position but Jones seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Dodson rolls and tries to escape and now Jones has his back!
Jones gets his hands free as Dodson looks to control.
Dodson tries to roll but Jones sticks to his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jones looking for the choke but no joy.
Oooh a big shot gets through from Jones. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

Jones is breathing heavily.
Jones is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Dodson is defending well though. Jones let's go of the attempt for now.
You can see the frustration on Dodson's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Dodson grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.
Dodson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jones is working the ground and pound. Can Dodson escape?
Dodson is trying to stand back up.
Jones looking for the RNC.
Dodson wants to control his opponent's hands but Jones gets his hands free.
Jones wants to control but Dodson is keeping busy.
Dodson wants to escape the position.
Dodson trying to control the hands but Jones won't let him.
Jones looking to break Dodson's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Dodson remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Jones will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Dodson has managed to clinch.
Dodson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Dodson.
Jones tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Dodson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Dodson takes a little break here. Jones wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Dodson in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Dodson tries to stand but Jones is controlling his head.
Dodson trying to control the action but Jones is working from the bottom.
Dodson goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Jones rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Dodson's guard! Nice work there by Jones!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Dodson wants to stand but Jones is controlling the position.
Jones is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Dodson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Dodson has escaped and now he's on top!
Dodson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Jones dives on top into guard.

Dodson can't keep his opponent in guard - Jones advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dodson keeps working.
Jones working the head and body with strikes.
Jones winds up and cracks Dodson with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Jones missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Jones is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Dodson!
Jones with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Dodson wants to control but Jones is having none of it.
Jones moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Dodson has worked his arm free - good work by Dodson!
Dodson wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Dodson is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Jones off and has taken his back!
Jones prevents Dodson from getting a body triangle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Marcus Jones will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Jones shoots and misses
so Dodson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Dodson trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom.
Dodson looking to improve position, pressing down on Jones's thigh with his hand. Jones seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Dodson paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Dodson's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Jones picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
