Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nigel Benn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kevin Randleman!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benn throws a leg kick
and Randleman counters with a nice uppercut.
Randleman moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Randleman throws a chopping leg kick but Benn manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Benn swings away with a body shot that misses
and Randleman counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Randleman throws a front kick that sends Benn stumbling back into the cage.
Benn lands with an uppercut that bounces Randleman off the cage and back into rage.
Randleman fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Benn checks it well.
Benn connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Benn wants to clinch
and Randleman counters with a slapping leg kick.
Benn swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Benn dips to his left and cracks Randleman with an uppercut!
Benn lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Randleman at a distance.
Benn checks the leg kick nicely there.
Nigel Benn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Randleman shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Benn manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Randleman sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Benn's guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Randleman connects with a nice short shot to Benn's temple.

Benn on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Benn tries to get out of the position.
Randleman moves nicely into side control.
Benn being controlled for a moment.
Benn takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Benn gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Randleman connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Randleman takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Benn wants to control but Randleman is having none of it.
Benn is bucking up trying to escape but Randleman cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Benn is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Randleman is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Randleman scoring with strikes but Benn is staying in there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Benn can't escape the position.
Randleman lands a nice shot to the head.
Benn knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Randleman on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Randleman looking to control and managing it successfully.
Randleman lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.


Benn is rocked!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Randleman! Benn is hurt baaadly! Randleman is firing away with more strikes - Benn is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kevin Randleman!
