The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rowles throws a front kick that sends Yoshi stumbling back into the cage.
Rowles drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

It looks like Paul Rowles has been cut.
Paul Rowles seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yoshi swings for the body but Rowles moves out of range.
Yoshi takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Yoshi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rowles tries to avoid it but Yoshi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rowles to the ground. Rowles escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Rowles thows a body shot but no joy.
Yoshi connects with a solid leg kick.

Rowles stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Yoshi.
Rowles throws out a leg kick but Yoshi moves out of range and Rowles only half commits.

Rowles walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Yoshi checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

The fighters circle momentarily. Yoshi darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Rowles blocks a head kick by Yoshi.
Both fighters circling a little - Yoshi finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Rowles is breathing heavily.

Yoshi wants to take a breather but Rowles is having none of it.
