Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Psycho Shaman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miko Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maia is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Bulls on Parade. Miko Maia has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Psycho Shaman's chin.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaman fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Maia manages to avoid it.
Shaman checks a leg kick nicely.
Shaman pivots, looking for a leg kick but Maia is out of range and Shaman settles back down.
Shaman connects with a jab.


It looks like Miko Maia has been cut.
Maia blocks the body kick.
Shaman wants to clinch up but Maia keeps it at a distance.
Maia keeps the fight on the outside.
Psycho Shaman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shaman moves out of range as Maia strikes.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Shaman.
Shaman lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Maia throws a right and a left that Shaman avoids nicely.
Shaman misses with a combination
and Maia counters with a nice body shot.
Nice uppercut lands for Maia. That snapped Shaman's head back.


It looks like Psycho Shaman has been cut.

Maia lands an overhand right.
Maia keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Shaman throws a push kick but Maia slaps the foot to one side.
Shaman misses with a body shot

so Maia counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Maia throws a big right hand that misses.
Maia tries to free his leg and advance position but Shaman is retaining full guard.
Maia working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Shaman utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Maia has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Maia postures up in Shaman's guard and throws a big left but Shaman blocks it.
Shaman working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Maia.

Maia throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Maia with a flurry of punches that miss.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Maia scores with a decent looking hook.
Shaman misses with a kick to the body.
Shaman doesn't manage to clinch there - Maia circles away.
Maia fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Shaman does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Shaman uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Maia.
Shaman slips a straight right by Maia.
Shaman throws a half hearted mid kick.
Maia just misses with a punch to the body.

A jab-cross combination lands for Maia and sends Shaman crashing to the mat! Maia follows him down to the mat - Shaman regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!


Shaman is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Maia tries to pass to full mount but Shaman defends it.
Oh Shaman is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Shaman avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Maia.
Shaman seems to have got his legs back now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Maia is looking to pass Shaman's guard but actually Shaman recovers to full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Maia accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Maia working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Shaman preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Maia working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Maia loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Maia accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Shaman is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Maia missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Maia throws and elbow that misses. Shaman uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Maia's guard. Nice move by Shaman!
Maia has control of Shaman's left arm, preventing Shaman from doing any damage.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Maia attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Maia tries to keep at a distance but Shaman has taken the fight into the clinch.
Shaman misses with a knee to the head.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Shaman throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Maia blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Maia avoids a wild elbow strike from Shaman.
Maia takes a knee right on the jaw!

Maia avoids a wild elbow strike from Shaman.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Miko Maia dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Maia looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Shaman!
Shaman wants to hold on but Maia pushes him away.
Maia pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Maia loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Shaman scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Maia land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Maia stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Miko Maia!
