The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Jones III feints and as Machado raises his hands in defense, Jones III changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Machado not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Jones III stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Machado swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Machado tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A big strike lands for Jones III! That's really hurt Machado and he's turned his back - Jones III keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Jones III jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
