The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Raul tries to clinch but Patricks moves out of range.
Patricks ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Raul moves away.
Patricks lands with an overhand left.

Patricks throws a good cross that connects.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Raul.

Raul tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Patricks was well out of range. Poor timing from Raul.

Raul shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Patricks as he avoids it easily.

Raul slaps away a takedown attempt from Patricks, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Raul is breathing heavily.

Patricks rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Raul moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Raul lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Raul wants to lay and pray for a moment but Patricks keeps working.

Patricks avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Raul.
Patricks tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Raul wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Raul throwing strikes but Patricks manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Raul avoids a punch combination nicely.
Raul dips to his left and cracks Patricks with an uppercut!
Raul takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Patricks tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Patricks fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Raul looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

It looks like Vaan Patricks has been cut.
Servantes Raul is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Patricks thuds his right hand into Raul's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Patricks jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Patricks will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Patricks shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Raul as he jumps to the side.

Patricks bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Patricks throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Raul stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Raul is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Patricks scores with a takedown into Raul's guard.
Patricks is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Patricks postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Patricks pushes down on Raul's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Patricks stalling away here and it's allowed Raul to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Raul had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Patricks defends it easily.

Patricks thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Patricks is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Raul throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Patricks's waist but Patricks gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Raul off to one side.
