Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Phil Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rich Omega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson comes to the cage accompanied by Rampage Song. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Phil Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rich Omega!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Omega shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jackson as he avoids it easily.
Omega fails to land with a series of punches.
Jackson throws a left and a right that both miss
and Omega counters with a left and a right that stings Jackson.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jackson is defended easily by Omega.
Omega tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jackson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Omega somewhat.
Omega fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Jackson.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Omega staying out of range there.
Jackson fails with the takedown.
Omega shoots in but no luck this time.
Phil Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rich Omega.
The fight stays on the outside here - Omega looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Jackson counters with a straight right hand.


It looks like Rich Omega has been cut.

Omega gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Jackson is trying to drag Omega to the mat but Omega just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Omega swings wildly with an uppercut but Jackson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Omega pushes Jackson back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Omega has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Jackson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Omega can't get the takedown.
Jackson drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Omega.
Omega fails to pull guard.
Jackson is looking to break free of the clinch but Omega has double underhooks.
Omega is working for takedown but Jackson is calmly controlling the position for now.

and Jackson counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Omega tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jackson swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Jackson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Omega moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Omega closes the distance and clinches up with Jackson, looking for a takedown. Omega pushes Jackson against the cage but Jackson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Omega tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jackson swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Omega counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Omega fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

so Jackson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Omega wants to get back to his feet but Jackson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Jackson passes Omega's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jackson seems to be looking for submissions.
Omega keeping control of the position.
Omega is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Jackson is working hard here to advance position.
Omega blocking the ground and pound attempt from Jackson.

Jackson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Omega has managed to free his arm - good work.
Omega pushes Jackson off looking to stand but Jackson dives back in and keeps control.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Omega shoots and misses

and Jackson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Omega's guard.

Jackson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Jackson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Jackson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Omega manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jackson has Omega in his guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Jackson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jackson tries to get out of the position.

That's time! Jackson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Omega looks to land a combination but Jackson avoids it well.

and Omega counters with a low kick, right behind Jackson 's knee.

Jackson throws out a leg kick but Omega moves out of range and Jackson only half commits.

and Omega counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Omega lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Omega lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Omega throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Omega tries to stall but Jackson uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Omega lands a shoulder strike.
A shot in the inside from Omega.
Omega's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Jackson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Omega avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Phil Jackson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Omega pulls Jackson into guard.
Omega lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Jackson!

Omega has control of Jackson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Jackson regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Omega looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Rich Omega comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Jackson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
