The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Yamamoto.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamaski keeps the fight on the outside.
Yamaski connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Yamaski moves into the clinch successfully.
Yi slows down the pace here.
Yamaski tries to break free but Yi pushes him back against the cage.
Yi changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Yamaski fights it off and pushes away nicely.

and Yamaski counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Yamaski.

Yi drags the fight down to the ground.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Yi is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Yi had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Yamaski defends it easily.

Yamaski got a little sloppy there for a moment and Yi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Yamaski has managed to get both his arms back between Yi's legs - danger averted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Yi has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Yamaski is working away from the top position though.

Yi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Yi wants it to stay on the feet.

and Yamaski counters with a nice double leg into side control. Yi won't be happy with that.

Yi is trying to maintain the position but Yamaski is very close to passing his half guard.
