Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Michael Mullin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith has chosen Redman - Da goodness as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mullin gets caught flat footed, as Smith shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Mullin keeping moving, preventing Smith from controlling successfully.
Mullin is trying to control the position but Smith postures up.
Smith trying to control the position from guard on top but Mullin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Smith is looking to work some ground and pound but Mullin has wrist control.
Smith throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Mullin tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Mullin bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Smith's guard.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Smith lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Mullin has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Mullin and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Mullin jabs Smith right on the nose. Smith blinks but takes it well.

Smith wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mullin keeps working.

Smith is working for a kimura but Mullin is defending it quite comfortably.
Smith is looking to advance position but Mullin won't allow it.
Mullin is trying to maintain the position but Smith is very close to passing his half guard.
Smith is stalling here. Mullin is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Smith seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Mullin has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Smith accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Smith throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Mullin sizes up Smith with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Mullin connects with a single shot there.
A decent looking cross lands there for Mullin.

Mullin clinches.
Mullin lands with a short head shot on the inside.
With the fighters up against the cage, Smith throws an elbow but misses.
Smith wants a takedown but no success here.
Mullin pushes Smith back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Smith's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Mullin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Smith lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mullin circles away quickly and effectively.
Mullin lands the left hand.
