Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Waleed Malik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hasse Hansson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Malik comes to the cage accompanied by Can't Be Touched. Hansson has chosen Saliva - Click Click Boom as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malik moves in looking to clinch but Hansson pushes him off.

Hansson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Malik keeps working.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The ground and pound from Hansson seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Hansson wants to take a breather but Malik manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Hansson.

Hansson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Malik wants to clinch up but Hansson keeps it at a distance.
Hansson throws a nice looking combination but Malik bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Malik lands a big head kick that sends Hansson tumbling to the mat! Malik takes a step backwards and waves Hansson back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Hasse Hansson has been cut.
Malik tries to clinch there but Hansson circles away.

Malik darts in and clinches Hansson up against the cage.

The referee calls for Hansson to work.

Malik breaks the clinch.
Malik throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hansson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Malik pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Malik tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Hansson counters with a three punch combo that has Malik backing up. Malik nods at Hansson to acknowledge the strikes.
Malik is breathing heavily.

Malik rushes Hansson and presses him up against the cage.

Hansson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Malik misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hansson throws a series of punches but Malik moves out of range.
Malik throws a sloppy head kick

and Hansson lands a stunning uppercut that sends Malik to the mat!

Malik is rocked!

It looks like Waleed Malik has been cut.
Hansson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Hansson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Malik's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Malik is staying active underneath Hansson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Malik avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hansson.
Hansson scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Hansson wants to control but Malik is keeping him busy.
Hansson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Malik is not content to let Hansson control the position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Malik is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Hansson scores with a couple of nice shots.
Hansson is just content to waste time from the top position. Malik takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Hansson is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Hansson blocks a head kick by Malik.
Malik takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

and Hansson counters with a huge left! Malik is in big trouble! He's backing up but Hansson isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Malik from any more damage. A dominating finish by Hansson!
