Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cliff Burton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Cain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cliff Burton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adam Cain!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cain shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Burton as he avoids it easily.
Burton swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Burton looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Cain tries to get to full guard but Burton has control of the leg.
Burton perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Cain moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Cain keeping moving, preventing Burton from controlling successfully.
Cain wants to improve his position but instead Burton has moved into half guard.
Cain wants to improve his position but Burton is controlling well.
Burton trying to control from half guard but Cain is working away.
Cain tries to get to full guard but Burton has control of the leg.

Cain trying to get back to full guard but Burton takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Burton trying to control but Cain is having none of it.
Cain throwing hammer fists to the chest of Burton. What's that going to do exactly?
Burton manages to capitalize on a mistake by Cain to take his back!
Cain turns into Burton and is now in his guard.
Cain is looking to work some ground and pound but Burton has wrist control.
Cain throws and elbow that misses. Burton uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Cain's guard. Nice move by Burton!
Cain trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Cain bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Burton's guard.
Burton looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cain is one step ahead there.
Cain trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Burton is breathing heavily.

Burton working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cain doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cain manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Cain really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Burton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cain lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Burton avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Cain throws a big right hand that misses.
Cain sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Burton's guard.
Burton is looking for a sweep. Cain is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Cain throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Cain sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Burton defending well though.
Cain slips a nice elbow through Burton's hands, connecting with Burton's forehead.
Cain landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Burton has one foot on Cain's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Burton decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Burton is controlling the pace.
Cain gets full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Burton won't allow Cain to sweep him here.
Burton really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Cain throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Cain doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Burton wants to get up but he can't break Cain's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Cain is striking off his back. Burton thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.
Burton is looking to take a break and control but Cain is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Burton is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Cain is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Burton fails with an attempt to clinch.
Cain connects with a nice cross there... Burton is looking wobbly and Cain recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Burton to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Cain jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Adam Cain!
