Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between William Cunha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Martin Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that William Cunha has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily William Cunha seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Martin Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, John Roberts and Jorge Garcia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cunha thows a left - swing and a miss!
Cunha's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Cunha duly obliges.

It looks like Martin Sanchez has been cut.

Sanchez shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Cunha manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cunha can't keep his opponent in guard - Sanchez advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Cunha is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Sanchez scores with a couple of nice shots.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Sanchez is looking for a kimura here.
Cunha tries to kick Sanchez off but Sanchez keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Cunha knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sanchez on the ground.

Sanchez is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Cunha defends it well.
Cunha is looking for a sweep. Sanchez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Sanchez looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Cunha has one foot on Sanchez's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Cunha misses with a wild body shot.

Sanchez drives through and clinches with Cunha against the cage.
Sanchez drops down looking for an ankle pick but Cunha pulls his leg out and moves away.
Sanchez tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cunha swivels and escapes.
Cunha cracks a nice hook into Sanchez's ribs.

Cunha cracks Sanchez with an open hand slap.

Cunha is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Sanchez has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Cunha defend it? Sanchez steps over the head and cranks it - Cunha is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Sanchez!
