Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Preston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cole Elliot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Preston comes to the cage accompanied by Carol of the Bells. Elliot is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Party Up. John Preston could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Cole Elliot's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Preston!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cole Elliot!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Dean Styles and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Preston ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Elliot moves away.
Preston misses with a body shot.
Elliot throws a lazy right hand but Preston sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Preston misses with an uppercut.
A slow jab from Preston misses its intended target.
Preston misses with a straight left.
Elliot throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Elliot avoids the body shot from Preston.
Preston misses with a looping right.
Elliot fails with a takedown attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Elliot tries to close the distance and clinch up but Preston swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Elliot throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Preston's waist but Preston gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Elliot off to one side.
Elliot misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Preston.
John Preston is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Preston misses with an uppercut. Elliot saw that one coming.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Preston throws a hook but Elliot avoids it easily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Elliot moves into range and clinches up with Preston.
Elliot fails to pull the fight into his guard.
John Preston has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cole Elliot.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


No luck with that takedown attempt from Elliot.
Elliot throws out a powerful jab.


It looks like John Preston has been cut.
Elliot takes a jab right on the kisser.
Preston dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Elliot is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Elliot shoots in looking for a takedown. Preston tries to sprawl out of it but Elliot keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Preston manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Preston slips under a jab from Elliot.
Preston lands a really nice looking cross but Elliot seems unphased.
Elliot throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Preston circles away from the clinch attempt.
Elliot misses with a body shot.

Elliot tries to bum rush Preston with a series of wild strikes but Preston uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A slow jab from Preston misses its intended target.
Preston swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Elliot misses with a straight left.
Preston throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Preston swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Preston moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Elliot will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
John Preston has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cole Elliot.
Preston will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Elliot is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Preston throws out a loose jab but Elliot uses good head movement to avoid it.

enabling Preston to counter with a crisp jab.

Elliot will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Elliot misses with a takedown attempt - Preston sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Elliot slips a straight right by Preston.
A looping hook to the body misses from Preston. Elliot does a little dance to reset his feet.
Preston takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Preston just misses with a punch to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Elliot throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Preston avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Elliot tries to clinch but Preston moves out of range.

Preston gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Elliot to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Preston wants to sweep but no luck.
Preston controlling Elliot's posture.
Preston wants to stand up but Elliot is controlling him.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Elliot throws a body punch but Preston moves out of range.
Elliot steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Preston.
Elliot shoots in for a takedown but Preston shows good takedown defense.
A head kick misses from Elliot.
Elliot is looking to land body kicks.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Preston lands a nice shot to the body.
Preston scores with a shot to the body.

John Preston showed his dominance in that final round.
