Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robin Winchester (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clay Guida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Robin Winchester!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Clay Guida!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Steve Erwin and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Winchester is trying hard to land a takedown here. Guida sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Winchester tries to close the distance and clinch but Guida swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Guida trying to control but Winchester is working from the bottom.

Winchester is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Guida is aware though and is defending well.
Guida wants to stand but Winchester is controlling his posture from full guard.

Guida stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Winchester scores a takedown into full mount!

Winchester swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Guida is now in Winchester's guard. A big mistake from Winchester there, giving up the dominant position!
Winchester is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Guida trying to control the position from guard on top but Winchester is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Guida slips nicely into half guard.

Winchester manages to get to full guard.
Guida tries to free his leg and advance position but Winchester is retaining full guard.
Winchester wants to stand and escape but Guida is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Guida wants to control from the top but Winchester keeps moving.
Winchester pulls Guida in close to prevent any damage.
Winchester is breathing heavily.
Guida trying to control but Winchester is working from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Guida wants to stand but Winchester is controlling his posture from full guard.
Winchester is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Guida is controlling him.
Winchester trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Guida counters with a good low kick that Winchester was not able to check.

Guida drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Guida thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Guida sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Winchester's guard.
Guida is trying to control. Winchester wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Winchester gets back to full guard.

Winchester looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Guida passes into side control.
Winchester is looking to reverse the position.

Guida stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Winchester fails with the takedown

and Guida counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Guida.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Clay Guida dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Guida goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Winchester with a lazy takedown attempt

and Guida counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Guida is pressed up against the cage. Winchester has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Guida down to the mat. Guida avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Guida throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Winchester looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Guida manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Guida clinches up against the cage.

Guida has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Winchester uses from the top position.

Winchester drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Guida manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Winchester has Guida in his guard.
Winchester looking to hit a scissor sweep but Guida is one step ahead there.

Guida stands up and waves to Winchester to follow him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Winchester shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Guida's guard.

Winchester drops back looking for a leg! Guida is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Guida manages to kick Winchester off! Winchester jumps back into Guida's guard.

Guida is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Winchester stands and throws Guida's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Guida tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Winchester wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Guida sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Winchester is working for a kimura but Guida is defending it quite comfortably.
Guida is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Winchester scores with a couple of nice shots.
Winchester is stalling here. Guida is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Winchester seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Guida has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Clay Guida has got the better of the ground game so far.
Winchester is looking to reverse the position.
Winchester trying to control but Guida flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
Winchester looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Winchester is in bad spot here.
Winchester manages to reverse the position and now he's in Guida's guard. Nice work there by Winchester.

Winchester got a little sloppy there for a moment and Guida has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Winchester has managed to get both his arms back between Guida's legs - danger averted.

Winchester drops back looking for a leg! Guida is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Guida manages to kick Winchester off! Winchester jumps back into Guida's guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Robin Winchester will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Winchester had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Guida defends it easily.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Guida feints and as Winchester raises his hands in defense, Guida changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Guida's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Winchester is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Winchester wants to sweep here but Guida controlling him for the moment.

Guida decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Winchester darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Winchester is just content to waste time from the top position. Guida takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Guida manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Guida looking to control but Winchester is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Winchester is desperately trying to improve his position but Guida has a good base and remains in mount.

Guida is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Winchester is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
