PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vincent Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyle ONeill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Kyle ONeill!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Daniel Bishop and Colin Fotheringham.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
ONeill takes a swing at Black's ribcage but misses.
A combination from ONeill does no damage.
Black shoots in and drives through. ONeill sprawls well.
ONeill looks to land a combination but Black avoids it well.
ONeill uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Black has time to react.
The fighters circling - ONeill throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
ONeill punishes Black's body with a nice straight punch.

ONeill fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Black manages to avoid it.

Black shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
ONeill lands with a hook. Black tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

ONeill shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Black is trying to defend but ONeill finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
ONeill seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Black does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. ONeill lands a nice short elbow.

Black has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from ONeill finds it's way round the side to connect with Black's head.

ONeill throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

The crowd cheers as ONeill lands an impressive looking overhand right. Black doesn't seem phased though.

ONeill has picked Black up - he's going for a ride! ONeill dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
ONeill is looking to advance position but Black won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kyle ONeill dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Black drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
A combination from ONeill does no damage.
Black clinches but ONeill breaks the clinch
and ONeill counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Black is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

ONeill kicks off Black and gets to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

ONeill connects with a single shot there.
ONeill rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Black moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
ONeill swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
ONeill digs a good hook to Black's body.

ONeill drives through and clinches with Black against the cage.
ONeill has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Black avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Black is looking for a takedown up against the cage. ONeill gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

ONeill tightens his grip and picks Black up, before dumping him to the ground. Black manages to land in guard.
ONeill must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

ONeill wants the takedown. Black is fighting it off but ONeill persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Black's guard against the cage.

Black pulls ONeill in close to his closed guard and prevents ONeill from doing any damage or advancing position.

ONeill really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Black. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

ONeill has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

ONeill moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Black takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
A decent looking cross lands there for ONeill.

ONeill closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kyle ONeill comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well ONeill has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
