Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kong Le (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Swanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Le comes to the cage accompanied by Ave Maria. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Good leg kick by Le there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Swanson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Le's waist but Le gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Swanson off to one side.
Swanson's corner calls for a 1-2. Swanson obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Swanson has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Le finds it's way round the side to connect with Swanson's head.

Le lands a nice looking kick to the body. Swanson takes a step back to recover.

Swanson tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Le counters with a good low kick that Swanson was not able to check.
Swanson has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Le.
Some bone on bone action there as Le checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Swanson has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Swanson and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
