Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sub Zero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wellen Dowd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zero misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Zero looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Dowd scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Dowd scores with a crisp jab that stopped Zero in his tracks.

Dowd forces Zero back against the cage and clinches.

Dowd escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Zero walks forward, straight into a front kick from Dowd.

Dowd shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Zero's guard.

Dowd is looking to stand up but Zero won't let him.

Dowd wants to get up but he can't break Zero's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Dowd stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Dowd fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Zero sprawls well initially but Dowd persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dowd thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Zero moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Zero has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dowd can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Zero escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dowd gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Zero is working an open guard so Dowd takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Dowd lands with a nice combination. Zero backs away looking to recover.
Dowd throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Dowd moves into range and clinches up with Zero.
Zero fails to pull the fight into his guard.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sub Zero. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Zero changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Dowd fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Dowd breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Dowd throws a monster overhand right that drops Zero! Dowd follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
