Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Masahiko kimura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keith Higham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

kimura drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
kimura might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
kimura tries to free his leg and advance position but Higham is retaining full guard.

Higham working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. kimura doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. kimura manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Higham is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and kimura defends well.

kimura is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

kimura seems to be working for a kimura but Higham defends the submission attempt.
kimura moves into full mount! Higham won't be happy about that!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

kimura is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Higham knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Higham for a finish.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

I really don't envy Higham right now.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Higham shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
kimura wants to sweep here but Higham controlling him for the moment.

kimura throws his legs up looking for a submission but Higham uses it to pass to side control.

Higham is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but kimura is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Higham fails with the takedown

and kimura counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

kimura is really struggling to control Higham but he's trying to hold on to the position.

kimura stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Higham swivels though and keeps the full guard.

kimura postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Higham is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of kimura, into his guard.
Higham slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Higham thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
kimura is not content to let Higham control the position.

Higham goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, kimura has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Higham but great work by kimura.
kimura has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Higham!
Higham is squirming around, avoiding kimura's attempts to control the action.
Higham is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
kimura wants to control the pace but Higham is squirming around nicely.
kimura is stalling here but it's allowed Higham to get half guard.
Higham makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Higham.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Higham goes for an armbar but kimura turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from kimura.

Higham is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Higham is breathing heavily.

kimura is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Higham is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Higham has escaped and now he's on top!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Masahiko kimura will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Higham tries to clinch but kimura moves away

so kimura counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
kimura stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Higham swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Higham not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Higham has his foot on kimura's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. kimura works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Higham escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. kimura gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
kimura throws a strike but Higham rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Higham drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but kimura manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Higham has kimura in his guard.

Higham has his foot on kimura's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. kimura works his way back into a safe position though.

kimura drops back, looking for a kneebar! Higham looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Higham looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Higham!

Higham drops back looking for a leg! kimura is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and kimura manages to kick Higham off! Higham jumps back into kimura's guard.

Keith Higham has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Masahiko kimura is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well kimura has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
