Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between John Dutch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dennis Tretow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tretow has chosen Days of Thunder as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, John Dutch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dennis Tretow!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Gregory Folan and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tretow looks for the body kick but Dutch saw that one coming.
Dutch looks to land a combination but Tretow avoids it well.
Tretow throws a head kick that half lands.

Dutch gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Tretow to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Dutch looking for a sweep. Not yet Dutch, not yet.
Dutch trying to control the position here.
Tretow looking to sit in guard and control but Dutch gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dutch throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Tretow works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dutch throws a strike but Tretow rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Tretow wants to control from the top but Dutch keeps moving.
Dutch wants to get back to his feet but Tretow is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Dutch looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Tretow is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Tretow is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Dutch tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Tretow stands and throws Dutch's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Tretow controls the position from side control.

Tretow tries for a kimura but Dutch is defending well.
You can see the frustration on Dutch's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Dutch tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Tretow working away.
Dutch is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Tretow is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Dutch tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Tretow wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Tretow trying to control the position but Dutch is working away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Dutch's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Nice takedown defense from Dutch. No joy for Tretow on that attempt.
Tretow doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Dutch jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Tretow tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dutch swivels and escapes.
Tretow is looking to slow Dutch down with leg kicks.
Dutch connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

and Dutch counters by moving into the clinch.
John Dutch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dennis Tretow.
Dutch lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Tretow.
Tretow is breathing heavily.

Dutch has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Tretow regains guard immediately.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dutch postures up in Tretow's guard and throws a big left but Tretow blocks it.

Dutch stands up over Tretow, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Dutch loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Dutch throws a big right hand that misses.
Dutch throwing strikes from guard but Tretow blocks nicely.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Tretow shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Dutch holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Dutch gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Tretow is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Dutch's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Dutch's back!
Dutch turns into Tretow and is now in his guard.
Dutch throws a strike but Tretow rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Dutch on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Dutch tries to get out of the position.

Dutch keeping full guard, as Tretow tries to pass.
Tretow wants to control from the top but Dutch keeps moving.
Tretow advances to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Tretow seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Dutch does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Dutch is controlling Tretow's trapped leg to prevent Tretow from advancing to side control.
Tretow trying to control the action but Dutch is working from the bottom.
Tretow wants to free his trapped foot but Dutch is holding on for dear life with his legs.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Dutch dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Tretow tries to keep at a distance but Dutch has taken the fight into the clinch.
Tretow has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Dutch avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Dutch keeps control of Tretow as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Tretow jumps guard but Dutch stands there with Tretow around his waist. Tretow gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Tretow is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Dutch gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
John Dutch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dennis Tretow.
Tretow drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Dutch lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Dutch drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Tretow gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Dutch breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Dutch looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Dutch looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Tretow takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Dutch wants to take a breather but Tretow is having none of it.

Tretow is trying to control but Dutch manages to pass to mount!

Dutch lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dutch throwing strikes here but Tretow is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Dutch pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Tretow is trying to escape the mount.
Dutch lands a big elbow.
Dutch throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Dutch is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Tretow can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Dutch looking to finish Tretow with some ground and pound. This is bad for Tretow!
Dutch lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Poor strikes thrown by Dutch there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Tretow swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.

John Dutch showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Dutch has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
